A note from the founders

Eamon spent five years on the front desk — the third generation of his family to give his life to hotels. He knew the feeling well: the same five questions answered a hundred times, service requests lost between a radio and a notepad, the manual work that swallows a shift whole. And underneath it the frustration that matters most — guests who never quite tell you what they want, so you never quite get to give them the stay they came for.

That's the part outsiders miss. A hotel doesn't want to be a place to stay. It wants to deliver an experience. You can't, when you can't reach the guest where they are and your people are drowning in small jobs.

Eamon brought the problem to David, who had just finished a computer-science degree and wanted to build something real. We made it from our bedrooms in the UK, with — honestly — a whole lot of passion. We turned the thing that frustrated us most into the thing we're proudest of: a way to give every guest, at every hotel we work with, the stay they hoped for.
